Corona Water Education Program
Are you looking for exciting and creative ways to teach your students about water conservation, and pollution reduction?
The City of Corona’s Utilities Department in partnership with the RCRCD provides a free and engaging classroom presentation and materials about water.
A Resource Educator from the RCRCD can visit your school to conduct a hands-on classroom program to demonstrate water concepts and help your students learn about sustainable water use.
The WATER presentation includes information about:
- the importance of water
- the water cycle
- a watershed
- where Corona gets its water
- simple ways to conserve water in and around a home
- storm water pollutants and how we can reduce them
Water education programs help instill in students the need to improve water supply reliability for California and to reduce the amount of pollutants that enter our storm drain system and waterways, including washes, creeks, arroyos and ultimately the Santa Ana River. Since people generate the largest amount of storm water pollution, we can be the largest part of the solution. Educating students about these concepts helps to ensure that future generations will understand the importance of water as a vital resource and form lifelong habits that ensure its responsible use and care.
To schedule a hands-on presentation*, please contact Roxanne Robbins, Resource Educator, Riverside-Corona Resource Conservation District: at her email robbins@rcrcd.org
Thank you for your efforts to educate your students about natural resources and water conservation.
*Presentations will be scheduled on a “first come, first served” basis.
